Fishing, Fireworks and the Fourth of July
I thank GOD I'm FREE and I live in this country. Even though we have allot of problems right now and everyone has a opinion on Iraq, our border's, health care and the big one the economy. We all can agree on one thing. We are still so blessed to live in this country.
Fishing, Fireworks and the Fourth go hand in hand here in America. Don't worry I did not forget grilling. What a awesome weekend we all enjoy in this country. Sorry I do not have some fancy destination or some expensive trip to share. Just stayed around the house this year and enjoyed time with my family.
Of course we barbecued all weekend and ate very good! Most importantly I spent time with my family, that's what matters most to me. I guess I wanted this post to remind everyone how thankful we all should be. Let's not forget to thank our VETS! That's why were free because of their sacrifice.
As our countries Independence celebration ends. We must brace ourselves for another work week. Us Americans are a hard working people and I hope you had a chance to get out have some fun this past weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect here in the Midwest.
I leave you with this quote from Dwight Eisenhower:
"Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be earned and refreshed-else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die"

Wild vs Hatchery Steelhead
This is a hot topic for sure on the West Coast. No matter where you stand on this issue I think we all can agree on one thing. No one wants the Wild Steelhead to disappear. Its important that we keep the wild fish going. The debate is how we keep the right balance of wild vs hatchery fish and still have angler opportunity. To tell you the truth I'm glad I'm not in that position or have that job title to make these decisions. I'm sure there has been allot of screaming on both sides..
No matter which way you go on this issue not everyone is going to be happy. My opinion is we need to protect the Wild fish for sure. After all its our fault they are on the decline. Now whats the cause of the decline? That is also up for debate among the ranks. But we all can agree on another item. Man is responsible one way or another for the Steelhead disappearing. So because of that reason we all have a moral responsibility to help the Wild fish out in my opinion.
No matter what your opinion is make it a great day and I leave you with this quote:
"Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed"
Gandhi
A GOOD CAUSE!
NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
